Today, Sunday, Indian President Drupadi Moore affirmed her country's keenness to expand cooperation frameworks with Iraq and to deepen the historical relations between the two countries.
A statement by the Presidency of the Republic of Iraq stated that "President of the Republic, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received at the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the Ambassador of the Republic of India to Iraq, Prashant Bisai," adding that "the Indian ambassador handed Abdul Latif a message from Indian President Draupadi Murmo, which included her congratulations to His Excellency on his election as President of the Republic. As well as her best wishes for success in the performance of his duties.”
According to the statement, President Mormo affirmed India's keenness to expand cooperation frameworks with Iraq in a way that deepens the historical relations between the two countries and achieves the aspirations of the two friendly peoples for progress and prosperity.
For his part, the President of the Republic entrusted Besai with his thanks "and greetings to President Mormo for her kind congratulations, explaining Iraq's desire to raise the level of relations with India and expand the horizons of joint cooperation at all levels in the service of the higher interests of the two countries."
