Masrour Barzani sends messages to the Sudanese government and points out the "deficiencies" and "solution"
Shafaq News/ Today, Tuesday, the Prime Minister of Kurdistan Regional Government sent several messages to the head of the federal government in Baghdad, Muhammad Shiaa al-Sudani and the political parties participating in his government, stressing the Kurds' contribution to strategic decisions with a "real" partnership.
"People in Iraq need services more than ever," Barzani said during a speech he delivered at the 2022 Middle East Forum held in Erbil, entitled "Iraq for All", and followed by Shafak News Agency, explaining, "If the government wants Iraqi success must increase services and eradicate corruption in ministries.
Masrour Barzani added that "disputes between the political parties are causing the government to be distracted from performing its duties and providing services to the people," noting that "there is an imbalance in various sectors that has reached a point that needs to be resolved."
He pointed out that "the Kurdistan Regional Government has achieved successes, and this can be put at the service of Iraq," explaining, "We have started the reconstruction process and some things will take time to achieve results, for example, in the digitization of services, and I can say that by the end of 2025 in the region Kurdistan will not work with paper."
With regard to economic diversification, he stated that the region "has enjoyed a successful experience over the past three years, and we have not only thought about developing the energy sector, but also developed agriculture, industry and tourism," stressing, "We have taken good steps and the first major export of agricultural products from the region will begin this month." next. This is an achievement and a very good step."
He continued, "There must be cooperation between Baghdad and Erbil to solve the problems between them, and the Kurdistan Region has expressed its readiness for this cooperation," noting that "the disputed areas were identified in Article 140 of the Constitution, but the federal government You did not solve the problem according to the constitution."
The Prime Minister of the Regional Government confirmed his readiness to discuss the rights and duties of the Kurdistan Region with the federal government, noting that "the existing problems are not technical or legal, but political."
Masrour Barzani pointed out that "there are principles that we agreed on with the federal government, one of which is real partnership," stressing that "there must be a real partnership and the distribution of positions and responsibilities to all parties."
He continued, "We want to be contributors to strategic decisions so that they are not imposed on us," noting that previous governments had systematically vacated positions and ministries from the Kurds.
Barzani said, "We have already reached a common understanding on some principles," adding, "We have asked for a real partnership, we do not want to participate in the government, we want a real partnership, the positions that belong to the Kurdistan Region must be given as they are and according to the percentage of the population, we want to participate in decisions The strategy is so that things are not imposed on us. If we are part of a united Iraq, we must be the owners of all decisions."
"We have shown goodwill and I am ready to go to Baghdad whenever necessary, and we expect them to stop violating the rights of the people of Kurdistan and return them to us," he stressed.
And Masrour Barzani said, "The Kurdistan Region can be a gateway for investors to reach the rest of Iraq," explaining, "We have an investment law that must be developed to support investment and attract investors."
The Prime Minister of Kurdistan stressed that "there should be a political will to solve the problems, which did not exist in Baghdad," stressing, "We are not the reason for the bad relationship between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad."
Masrour Barzani stressed, "The Kurds have a role in establishing the nucleus of the Iraqi army," noting that "the percentage of Kurds in the army was reduced to 2%, after it was 28%."
Masrour Barzani expressed his hope that "there is a long-term solution to the problems between Baghdad and Erbil," stressing that "there is a constitution that clearly defines our rights and duties."
Asking how or the possibility of the regional government helping the government in Baghdad, Barzani replied, "We have an agenda here, and we have implemented a large part of our agenda. We can talk about the steps that we have succeeded in and the experience we have gained, and we can talk about and use it in the service of all of Iraq," stressing " We want to help Iraq solve the problems it is facing."
The Prime Minister of Kurdistan confirmed that he will not give up "our rights established in the Iraqi constitution," stressing as well that the region "will remain the first region in stability and violence in the Middle East."
Barzani also said, "I felt that, reform is not required alone, you have to create a lot of things that did not exist in the first place," stressing, "We must take steps to address these issues now, as the results of some efforts have not yet appeared, and we will invest in various sectors." ".
He explained that "political parties do not support the government. If they are all interested in how to serve the people, they should be honest, evaluate the good and criticize the bad."
Barzani concluded, "The Kurdistan government pays salaries every month despite all the crises, and we did not borrow a penny, and we paid two billion dollars of previous debts, we stood on our feet, and we tried to make our government a service government," adding, "The political parties demanded to be supportive of us, it is true that There are political opinions and differences, but we have a coherent cabinet."
