With the multiple setbacks affecting Iraq's economy, many are calling for the need to revitalize the industrial and agricultural sectors through discreet plans to boost state resources and move away from dependence only on oil.

Setbacks afflict Iraq’s economy from time to time, which mostly depends on oil as a source of its stability. A volatile stability depends on global markets, and this situation will continue unless action is taken to strengthen the industrial and agricultural sectors, which are actually supportive of the state’s resources.

Many assert that the new government prioritizes the development of the industrial and agricultural sectors through plans that it is hoped will be implemented on the ground, especially that this has a benefit in the context of reducing unemployment rates.

International reports state that Iraq was able to achieve economic growth of 9.3 percent, but specialists in economic affairs assert that this number is the result of high oil prices and not the result of solid plans to develop the Iraqi economy.
