Dr. Jassim Al-Falahi, the Iraqi Minister of Environment, said that climate change is a real threat to us and our future generations, as a result of the increase in warming rates and climate extremism, stressing that we have gone beyond the issues of climate change to the limits of untimely climatic phenomena.

Dr. Jassem Al-Falahi stressed, during his interview with Extra News Channel, the increase in temperature rates in countries that previously suffered from an unprecedented decline, a significant decrease in rainfall rates, an increase in drought, and a significant scarcity in the quality and quantity of fresh water.

He pointed out that there is a great challenge from climate change in our region, especially after Iraq was classified as one of the countries in the world most affected by the effects of climate change, stressing that we are in dire need of such conferences to find global solutions to a global problem, even if its impact on the rest of the countries varies.
