His Excellency the President of the Republic, Dr. Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, received today, Thursday, November 10, 2022, at the Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, a delegation from the unions, associations and federations of Basra.
At the beginning of the meeting, the members of the delegation extended their congratulations and blessings to the President on the occasion of his election, wishing His Excellency success in his work duties in the service of the Iraqi people, while the President expressed his thanks and appreciation to the members of the delegation for their good feelings.
His Excellency the President of the Republic said that Basra Governorate and its people hold a dear place in the hearts of Iraqis, pointing out that it represents Iraq's economic gateway and an important part of the Iraqi national economy due to its natural and human resources.
President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid added that Basra, like other provinces, has suffered a lot as a result of corruption, pointing out that corruption hinders the progress of countries and that most empires have collapsed because of corruption, stressing the need to advance the reality of the city and its people by strengthening services and providing job opportunities for its youth, and consolidating security and stability. One of the foundations of important services is the attention to health and education conditions.
The President noted the important role played by organizations in Basra and the whole country in protecting the rights of Iraqis and communicating their voice, demands and needs, wishing the unions all success in their work and to serve the honorable people of Basra.
For their part, members of the delegation of visual unions and associations valued the position of the President of the Republic towards Basra and his sympathy with its people, as they provided an explanation to His Excellency about the reality of Basra in the various sectors and problems that the province suffers from and the necessary need to find real solutions through the cooperation of all, in addition to the aspirations of the people of Basra towards strengthening Security, stability, construction and development.
