Today, Saturday, the Central Committee of the Kurdistan Democratic Party will hold its first meeting, headed by Kurdish leader Masoud Barzani.[/size]
[size=45]Committee member Hiwa Kilani said in a televised statement that the meeting chaired by President Barzani will focus on the general lines of the Kurdistan Democratic Party's policy after holding its fourteenth conference.[/size]
[size=45]The Central Committee meeting will also discuss the election of 15 to 17 members of the party's political bureau.[/size]
[size=45]Regarding the election procedures, Kilani explained that all members of the Central Committee have the right to run for membership in the political bureau of the party, in addition to their right to vote.[/size]
[size=45]On the KDP's relations with the rest of the political parties, he indicated that one of the serious issues that the party undertakes after the end of its conference is to strengthen relations with all political forces and parties in the Kurdistan Region and Iraq.[/size]
[size=45]From 3 to 6 November, the Kurdistan Democratic Party successfully held its fourteenth conference in Dohuk, during which President Barzani was re-elected as head of the party, and Nechirvan Barzani and Masrour Barzani were chosen as his deputies.[/size]
[size=45]The members of the Central Committee of the party (formerly the Leadership Council), consisting of 51 members, were also chosen, 10 of whom were appointed by acclamation through direct selection, while the other 41 were elected through balloting, where 129 candidates competed for those seats.[/size]
