The Legal Committee in the House of Representatives confirmed, on Tuesday, that the Social Security Law is at the top of the laws awaiting legislation, especially since it is far from the political aspect.
Committee member Aref al-Hamami said, "Many laws await legislation during this session and according to priorities, foremost of which is the Social Security Law, which is one of the important laws that affect the life of citizens that must be legislated."
Al-Hamami pointed out that "the important laws that affect the life of the citizen are the most important, including the amendments to the retirement law and the social security law, and these do not require political consensus, unlike the oil and gas law."
And he explained, “Many of the laws with the first reading did not make their way to the second reading, due to the need for drafts to be reviewed by more than one committee,” noting that “the government program for the prime minister stipulated the enactment of important laws in a period between three to six months, and they must be sent.” By the government due to its direct impact on the implementation of the government program and the critical stage in the life of the government.
