Shafaq News / The Federal Integrity Commission announced today, Tuesday, that Judge Haider Hanoun has assumed his duties as head of the Commission.
In a statement received by Shafaq News agency, the Integrity Commission said, "Judge (Haider Hanoun) has assumed his duties as head of the Federal Integrity Commission, succeeding Judge (Alaa Al-Saadi), after the latter submitted a request to relieve the Prime Minister from the position."
The statement quoted the head of the commission as affirming, during the meeting, which was attended by the vice-president and general managers of the commission, and its former president, Judge (Alaa Jawad Al-Saadi), to "step up the pace of combating corruption and prosecute its major perpetrators," pointing out that undertaking this huge task and succeeding in it represents a national responsibility. And great legitimacy, and in fulfillment of the sacrifices made by the brave sons of Iraq of all their affiliations to confront the terrorist organizations.
Hanoun continued, "The citizen should see the authority's efforts in combating corruption by reducing its paths and holding its perpetrators accountable on the one hand, and providing the best services to citizens and returning the embezzled and smuggled funds to the state treasury on the other hand," noting that "carrying out this task is an elevation for the homeland and support for the oppressed and marginalized." and provide a life of dignity.
He added, "Fighting corruption is a responsibility that requires everyone's cooperation and the concerted efforts of all the commission's investigation directorates and offices." term of his presidency of the Commission, and a pledge to complete the path of those who preceded him, who assumed the presidency of the Commission.
