[rtl][You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] has once again bombed the positions of its [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] opponents deep in the cities of the [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] in a new escalation that would increase pressure on Baghdad to take effective diplomatic measures against the repeated attacks.[/rtl]
[rtl]An opposition Kurdish party called on the international community to put an end to the Iranian regime, which has become "a threat to the security of the Middle East," amid fears that the threat would exceed air strikes.[/rtl]
[rtl]The regional authorities had announced the death of two people and the wounding of eight others during an Iranian bombardment with missiles and drones that targeted the headquarters and offices of the Kurdish forces opposing Tehran in the Koysanjak district of the Zirkuiz district of Sulaymaniyah Governorate, accompanied by artillery shelling on border areas northeast of Erbil, in the second attack of its kind since the end of September ( last September, killing 18 people and wounding 26 others.[/rtl]
[rtl]Tehran accuses the Kurdish opposition forces of fueling the protests taking place in Iranian cities, especially the Kurdish-majority ones, since mid-September, after the death of the young woman, Mahsa Amini, during her arrest by the "morality police" on charges of violating the rules of women's dress. from the territory of the region.[/rtl]
[rtl]Middle East security threat[/rtl]
[rtl]Regarding the position on the attacks, the representative of the "Kurdistan Democratic Party" opposed to Tehran in Erbil, Muhammad Salih Qadri, said that his party "will continue its political struggle and support for the popular uprising that the rulers of Tehran are trying to cover up by creating a crisis outside the borders, in order to preoccupy the international community, which must put an end to its lax policy." Towards a regime that only understands the method of force and violence, because these attacks are not a violation of Iraqi sovereignty, but rather a threat to the security of the Middle East."[/rtl]
[rtl]Qadri warned that "Tehran is experimenting with each attack with a new type of missile, which means that it may not hesitate to use them, whether against Iraq or countries in the region."[/rtl]
[rtl]The Iranian Foreign Ministry justified launching the attacks by saying that they came "within the framework of self-defense because Baghdad and Erbil did not take measures to confront the threats of Kurdish groups."[/rtl]
[rtl]Qadri denied these allegations by saying, "We have always been committed to respecting the sovereignty of Iraq, and the region has not been used to launch attacks and its struggle is limited to the political side exclusively, and to provide moral support for the protests in which all Iranian peoples participate."[/rtl]
[rtl]He added, "The regime practices a policy of misinformation and tries to distort the issue of the protests by limiting them to a region because they are externally motivated, and that they do not reflect Iranian public opinion, especially since the international community has begun to escalate its pressure."[/rtl]
[rtl]Mislead and provoke[/rtl]
[rtl]Qadri described the pressure exerted by Tehran on the region to expel the Kurdish opponents as "flawed excuses," and said, "We have been present in these areas for several decades before the formation of the Kurdistan region, and our presence is legitimate according to international laws as long as we do not launch armed attacks, and on the contrary, Tehran is The one that assassinated dozens of our comrades in the region and today is trying to push us to use weapons, although it is a legitimate right, but we are patient so that the region does not turn into a battlefield, and we have moved away from the border areas while the regime is bombing civilian refugee camps.[/rtl]

[rtl]He stressed that "Tehran's demand to confine our presence within a narrow range is absolutely unacceptable, as long as the regime uses the method of intimidation and killing."[/rtl]
[rtl]Regarding the Iraqi Foreign Ministry's threat to take "high-level diplomatic measures," Qadri stressed that "Baghdad lacks the will to resort to the Security Council despite the country's sovereignty being violated, because Tehran has created armed arms within the Iraqi components that in turn influence the positions of the Iraqi government. There is no other way but through diplomatic channels to put an end to these repeated attacks."[/rtl]
[rtl]The Iranian attacks came two weeks after the Wall Street Journal published information that Riyadh, Washington and neighboring countries had raised the alert level of their military forces "based on Riyadh's exchange of intelligence information with the US administration warning of an imminent Iranian attack on targets in Saudi Arabia and Erbil."[/rtl]
[rtl]Exporting internal crises[/rtl]
[rtl]In his interpretation of the Iranian motives, the military and strategic analyst, Brigadier General Ihsan Qaisoun, believes that "the Tehran regime suffers from many internal problems and is trying hard to export them. It is known that Erbil does not allow any military action to be launched against any neighboring country from its areas of influence, whether on Turkey or Iran, and it has not actually launched One bullet from the region towards the Iranian forces.[/rtl]
[rtl]Qayson said, "The presence of the Iranian Kurdish opposition groups in the Kurdistan region is not new, but rather dates back to several decades during the rule of the former Iraqi regime, and the regional government did not bring them, which means that Tehran is trying to throw a ball of fire from its arena on the region, as it does in other regions such as Syria." and sometimes threatens Saudi Arabia.[/rtl]
[rtl]There were wide condemnation positions locally and internationally, as the President of the region, Nechirvan Barzani, affirmed that "there are no justifications for targeting the region with missiles and drones," calling on Baghdad to "put an end to the attacks."[/rtl]
[rtl]The UN mission to Iraq affirmed its rejection of "using Iraq as an arena for settling scores," and called on the two countries to "conduct a dialogue on common security concerns as the only option to move forward."[/rtl]
[rtl]While the US State Department called on Iran to "stop its repeated and flagrant violation of the sovereignty and unity of Iraq."[/rtl]
[rtl]Ground attack is possible[/rtl]
[rtl]Qayson agrees with Qadri that the Kurdish opposition's support for the protests in Iran does not go beyond "moral support," as he said, "These groups do not have those military capabilities to be intimidated by Tehran, and then all the opposition forces to the Iranian regime abroad, other than the Kurds, also provided moral support." So why are these groups accused only?[/rtl]
[rtl]He expected that the position of the Iraqi government would not go beyond issuing statements of denunciation by saying, "This is what has always happened," and he asked, "What are the cards that some ruling political forces possess, which are mainly loyal to Tehran? If there was a national government that cared about the country's sovereignty, it would have had to recall its ambassador in Tehran and reduce Diplomatic representation from an embassy to a consulate or going to the Security Council, but we do not see any complaints filed despite the repeated attacks."[/rtl]
[rtl]Qayson did not rule out that Iran would go further than launching air attacks, saying that "Tehran may not hesitate to implement its threats to introduce ground forces into the Kurdistan region in order to throw the internal fireball that has begun to threaten the Iranian regime into Iraqi territory, under the pretext that there is military and logistical support." From inside Kurdistan to the Iranian revolutionaries and protesters.[/rtl]
[rtl]Violation of international laws[/rtl]
[rtl]In terms of the legal options available to the Baghdad government, legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi confirms that the Iranian attacks “are a violation of Iraqi sovereignty under the Charter of the United Nations, especially Articles (1), (2) and (3), and Articles (24) and (34) And (39) of the Charter authorized the Security Council to impose sanctions on the aggressor state.[/rtl]
[rtl]He explained that "these articles allowed resorting to the Security Council, filing a complaint, and putting the aggressor country under Chapter VII, as it threatens international peace and security, and this is available to Iraq with the fall of a large number of victims."[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Tamimi pointed out that "these attacks are included among crimes against humanity and genocide in accordance with international law and Article (6) of the 'Rome Accord' of the International Criminal Court, as well as the 'Genocide Prevention Agreement' of 1948," stressing that Baghdad "has the right to legitimate defense." About its sovereignty in accordance with Article (51) of the Charter of the United Nations, and it can request assistance from the United States of America in accordance with Article (27) of the strategic agreement between Iraq and America for the year 2008.[/rtl]
[rtl]Al-Tamimi noted that "Iraq's position, in the event that it resorts to filing a complaint, will need to be firm and strong, far from diplomacy, given that the Kurdistan region is part of the country and its people are Iraqi citizens."[/rtl]
