    On Sunday, talks took place in the capital, Baghdad, between Iraq and China on adopting methods of industrial seeding and water desalination and developing joint relations.
     A ministry statement said, "Agriculture Minister Abbas Al-Alaywi took the Chinese ambassador to Baghdad, Cui Wei, accompanied by political attache Guo Yijia, where the Chinese ambassador blessed Al-Alaywi for assuming the duties of his position."
    The minister stressed "the depth of the Iraqi-Chinese relations and joint cooperation in various fields, especially the agricultural aspect."
    The statement quoted Al-Alaywi as saying, "The great and many challenges facing the world in the field of climate change require cooperation and cooperation between different countries of the world to confront them, especially since Iraq suffers from this phenomenon that has bad effects on various aspects of life."
    The minister referred to "Iraq's need to benefit from the experiences of the Chinese side to obtain modern irrigation technologies and rely on alternative energy such as wind and solar energy, expressing his desire to expand the horizons of agricultural cooperation with China, combat desertification and confront the effects of climate change."
    The Chinese ambassador expressed the availability of the Chinese will to help Iraq in the fields of combating desertification and expanding the agricultural area, stressing "the existence of cooperation between the concerned authorities in the two countries."
    The ambassador explained, "There are several proposals submitted by the Desertification Control Department to provide support to the Iraqi side, stressing the speedy start of cooperation at the earliest opportunity to shorten time, effort and energies."
    According to the statement, "The technical undersecretary of the ministry, Mithaq Abdul-Hussein, raised the issues of artificial seeding, water desalination, recycling and development of the climate-related meteorological system, and Ambassador Wei promised to transfer all these proposals to the Beijing government to work on in the future."
