The Ministry of Oil clarified, on Monday, the importance of expanding the Diwaniyah refinery, and while specifying the specifications of its products and the duration of the project’s completion, it revealed the nationalities of the foreign companies implementing the project and operating under an Iraqi company.
"The project to increase, expand and develop the Diwaniyah refinery is very important by increasing production capacity by an additional 70,000 barrels per day, which leads to a visit of about 90,000 barrels per day," said Aed Jaber, general manager of the Middle Refineries Company, one of the companies affiliated with the Ministry of Oil.
Jaber added, "This increase leads to an increase in the proportion of products from gasoline and other oil derivatives by no less than 78%, in addition to revenues in Iraqi dinars daily or monthly, with an increase of up to 82%, in addition to the importance of this as an economic feasibility."
