    The Federal Integrity Commission called for the Ministry of Health and the concerned authorities to monitor unlicensed stores, offices and pharmacies that violate the instructions issued by the Ministry and the Pharmacists Syndicate, and to take deterrent measures against them, confirming that it monitored a discrepancy of more than $3.5 billion in the amounts of imported medicines and supplies during the year 2021. 
    And a statement by the authority stated, “The prevention department in the authority mentioned in a follow-up report prepared by it about the visits that its team made to the Ministry of Health (the minister’s office, technical affairs and inspection departments, and popular clinics), the Ministry of Finance – the General Authority for Customs, and the Ministry of Trade – the Iraqi Exhibitions Company, in addition to The Pharmacists Syndicate, in order to follow up on the phenomenon of high prices of medicines and medical supplies, and to learn about the measures taken by the Ministry of Health regarding fulfilling the notes indicated in the Commission’s report issued last year, stressed the need for the Ministry to reconsider the long procedures and shorten the routine episodes that delay the registration of certified medicines. International; Which forces dealers to import them to smuggle them through the Kurdistan region.” 
    In a report sent to the office of the Prime Minister, the Parliamentary Integrity Committee, the Ministers of Health and Commerce, and the Captains of Physicians and Pharmacists, the department recommended the creation of inspection units from the Ministry of Health at the border crossings to ensure the safety of medicines and their storage conditions, and to strengthen control and control of loopholes and informal methods that smugglers may adopt. In addition to recommending that the External Audit Department of the Integrity Commission study the large discrepancy between the total amounts of medicines and supplies that were recorded in the General Authority of Customs calculator during the year 2021, amounting to (4,416,636,789) billion dollars, and the total amounts for which import licenses were issued by the Ministry trade amounting to (162,940,839) million dollars during the same period, to find out the real reasons for the discrepancy.  
    The report suggested, "The Department of Private Health Institutions and the Syndicates of Physicians and Pharmacists carry out inspection campaigns regarding the commitment of pharmaceutical offices and pharmacies to pricing according to the work outputs of the Drug Pricing Committee, follow-up writing prescriptions by typing machine, confirming this, and following up on defaulters, as well as following up on non-specialized pharmacists and taking Deterrent legal measures against them, urging the activation of drug control laboratories in Kurdistan, and recognition of the examinations that take place in the region, pointing to the importance of activating and supporting drug control laboratories in Basra and Najaf. 
    The report monitored "the lack of serious activation of the work of the Drug Pricing Committee formed in the Ministry of Health, its weak role in controlling and monitoring the prices of medicines and medical supplies, and the failure to include drugs in all markets and their distribution outlets in the drug pricing, in addition to weak control procedures and control over the work of pharmacies by oversight agencies." at the Ministry of Health and Border Crossings.
