Baghdad / The National News Center
, the head of the State of Law Coalition, Nuri al-Maliki, confirmed today, Tuesday, that the current government headed by Muhammad Shia al-Sudani enjoys internal and external support, considering the most important step is preserving and supporting it to achieve its ministerial platform to serve the people.
Al-Maliki said, in a televised interview followed by the National News Center, that "the Sudanese government enjoys internal and external support, and preserving it is an important step."
He added, "The Iraqis feel comfortable during the current government, and there is no objection to holding early elections if their premises are mature."
He explained that "the people will be satisfied with the success of the government if it exceeds 60% of the implementation of its government program, calling for a change in the mood of the street by providing real services."
Al-Maliki called on the current government to "take care of the poor and the agricultural sector."
And he continued, “We will not allow the scenario of bringing down Abdul-Mahdi’s government with the Sudanese government to be repeated,” pointing to “Al-Sudani’s demand to refer all corrupt people to integrity, without exception.”
Al-Maliki pointed out that “the emergence of demonstrations against a month-old government means that there is an intention not to allow construction and correction,” noting that “there is no justification for holding demonstrations against the government.”
And he added, “I was at the forefront of the list of those targeted in the events of the storming of Al-Khadra,” stressing, “I do not want a quarrel with Sayyid Muqtada and his followers in the Sadrist movement.
