A member of the House of Representatives, Adnan Al-Jabri, warned today, Sunday, against strangling Iraq by sea by the State of Kuwait, while calling on the federal government to take action against Kuwaiti violations.
Al-Jabri said in an interview after 2003 and because of the internal events in Iraq, the neighboring countries went too far on land and sea and cut off water and other policies carried out by both Kuwait and Turkey, noting that “Iraq today is suffocating by sea from Kuwait.”
He added, "The country used to have a coast on the Persian Gulf, which is not bad, but after dividing the Iraqi-Kuwaiti borders and building Mubarak Port by Kuwait, it began to crawl a lot on Iraqi waters and strangle the country."
A member of the House of Representatives called on the federal government to “move on this file and not give way to Kuwait.”
And Al-Jabri said: “Maybe we will be surprised one day that the country does not have a sea outlet if the Kuwaiti policy continues at this pace.”
Earlier, a member of the House of Representatives, Alaa Al-Haidari, confirmed that there are countries that practice violations against Iraqi sovereignty, including Kuwait, and attributed the reasons for the violations to the weakness of the Iraqi government in previous years.
Representatives and specialists warn that Iraq's economic and oil ports will be closed due to the location of the Kuwaiti drilling platform within the shipping lane and the expansions taking place in it, calling for urgent diplomatic action to address this file. Ended/25 SAR
