Today, Monday, the Parliamentary Communications Committee clarified the fate of the Information Crimes Law, and while it announced the holding of workshops with specialists regarding the law, it confirmed the existence of serious efforts to complete it.
The head of the Parliamentary Communications Committee, Zahra Al-Bajari, said, "The first reading of the Information Crimes Law took place in the previous parliament session by the Parliamentary Security and Defense Committee as a main committee and parliamentary communications as a supporting committee."
Al-Bajari added, "Workshop sessions will be held with specialists in this field, pending the submission of observations by parliamentarians and civil society organizations, as well as the concerned departments, in order to complete the second reading of the law."
The head of the committee confirmed, "There are serious efforts to complete the law."
And the Minister of Communications, Hayam Al-Yasiri, had confirmed earlier that the legislation of the Anti-Information Crimes Law would regulate social media and limit electronic extortion. Ended 29 / h.
