Today, Monday, the Parliamentary Finance Committee clarified the final accounts for the fiscal year.
A member of the committee, Jamal Cougar, said in a press interview seen by “Takadam” that: “The subject of the final accounts is not related to the budget law, but rather the accounts at the end of each fiscal year.”
He added, "The final accounts were supposed to be sent to the Finance Committee for study and approval."
Cougar indicated, "The House of Representatives does not demand it, but it is sent to it to complete its ratification."
It is noteworthy that the financial advisor to the Prime Minister, Mazhar Muhammad Salih, made it clear regarding the presentation of the final accounts of the current government, that there are two main factors that contributed to the failure to approve the final accounts on a regular basis 10 years ago.
And Salih stated earlier that the current government’s submission of the final accounts requires the submission of final accounts extending from the year 2015-2020, taking into account that the year 2020 does not have a general budget, which requires the submission of a draft law called the budget of a state of affairs, which is a legal expression of a final account and a budget at the same time. One is that revenues and expenses have become realised.
