Shafaq News/ The Parliamentary Investment and Development Committee showed, on Thursday, its keenness to complete the Basmaya residential complex in the capital, Baghdad.
The National Investment Authority said, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that a delegation from the Parliamentary Investment and Development Committee, headed by Representative Vian Abdel Aziz Abdel Rahman, Speaker of the Age, Representative Hussein Al-Sabri, Representative Amang Mahmoud and Representative Muhammad Al-Ziyadi visited Bismayah residential city yesterday, and they were received by a general manager. The Department of Relations and Information at the National Investment Commission, Haider Hamadeh, and a number of those responsible for the project.
The statement added, "The problems and obstacles that stand in the way of completing the project, reaching 100,000 housing units, and overcoming difficulties to serve the people of the city were reviewed."
According to the statement, the deputies expressed their "keenness to support the completion of the project, its continuation and the provision of services to its residents," stressing that "departments and institutions are addressed to expedite the provision of basic requirements for citizens, in addition to providing all facilities to the National Investment Commission to move forward with completing the project."
For his part, Hamada stressed that the National Investment Commission highly appreciates the visit of the members of the House of Representatives and their great support for the continuation of the project and facilitating procedures to provide everything that serves the citizens in Bismayah, indicating that the Commission is keen to resolve all problems with the South Korean Hanwha Company to resume work.
And last Sunday, the National Investment Commission announced that it had received a delegation from the Korean "Hanwha" company to complete the construction of the Bismayah residential city, for the purpose of addressing all the problems and accumulations that occurred in the past.
Residents of the Basmaya residential complex in Baghdad organized several demonstrations in October, in protest against the policy of the Investment Authority, which prompted the Korean company "Hanwha" to withdraw from completing the complex project, which is considered the first and best housing project in Iraq, and work began on it in 2012.
