    The Federal Integrity Commission revealed that a recruitment order had been issued against (10) senior officials in the Ministry of Electricity, including a minister and four former deputy ministers. This is due to the violations committed in one of the contracts concluded by the Ministry.
    The Investigation Department of the Commission, speaking about the case that it investigated and referred to the judiciary, stated that the second Karkh Investigation Court issued an order to bring in (10) senior officials in the Ministry of Electricity; Against the background of the violations committed in the contract for the rehabilitation of a power station with the Ministry of Industry and Minerals, stressing that the recruitment order included the former Minister of Electricity and (4) former agents, two of them for projects affairs and the other two for distribution affairs.
    She added that the recruited officials included (4) general managers in the ministry, confirming the recruitment of the current Director General of the Legal Department, the former Director General of the Investments and Contracts Department, the former Directors General of the Economic and Legal Departments, as well as the former Director of Internal Control.
    And she continued, explaining that the recruitment order issued; Based on the provisions of Article (331) of the Penal Code, it followed the results of the report of the investigative team consisting of the Investigation Department of the Authority, and the report of the Federal Office of Financial Supervision - Department of Industrial Activity Audit, pointing out that the two reports diagnosed violations committed in the contract concluded between the Ministry of Electricity and the Ministry of Electricity. industry and minerals; For the purpose of rehabilitating one of the power stations in the capital, Baghdad.
    Article (331) of the Penal Code stipulates that a penalty of imprisonment and a fine, or one of these two penalties, shall be imposed on: “Any public official or agent assigned to a public service who willfully commits a violation of the duties of his position or refrains from performing one of its duties with the intention of harming the interest of one of the individuals or with the intention of benefiting a person at the expense of another.” or at the expense of the state.
    It is worth noting that the authority had previously announced a statistic of the number of defendants in the criminal cases of the Ministry of Electricity, which included (2654) defendants, including (7) ministers, (5) deputy ministers, (127) general managers, and (2422) employees in a lower position. .
