confirmed, on Thursday, the Federal Integrity Commission, its implementation of 4 operations to control cases of waste of public money, violations and exceeding job limits, in a number of departments in Karbala Governorate.
In a statement received by Mawazine News, the Commission's Investigation Department said, "The staff of the Karbala Investigation Office, which moved to the Middle Euphrates Quarries Directorate, revealed forged receipts for the purchase of materials for the filters sand factory in the Ain al-Tamr quarries of the Directorate," pointing out that "that It led to a waste of public money amounting to (134,000,000) million dinars.
The department added that, "during a separate operation, violations were detected in the assignment of the Al-Ukhaidir site for space and washed sand to a contracting company for the purpose of investment, contrary to the investment contract concluded between the Karbala Governorate and the Middle Euphrates Quarries Directorate in the governorate, which led to a waste of public money amounting to ( 99,473,000) million dinars.
She explained, "A team from the commission's investigation office in the province monitored the notary public in Karbala exceeding the limits of his position, which led to damage to the client by more than (9,000,000,000) billion dinars," indicating that "the notary public issued an agency from the first client in which the second agent was authorized with powers." Outside the limits of his agency (the right to sell), without this right being vested in the first agent, who took advantage of the agency and sold his client’s shares in a securities company for the aforementioned amount.
She pointed out that "the team revealed irregularities in granting two investment licenses in the Karbala Investment Commission," adding that "two licenses were granted to one of the investors to implement a dairy and cheese factory, and another factory to produce cups and plastic utensils for the investor, without allocating a plot of land for the two projects."
