    The Karbala refinery was among 4 new refineries in the Middle East region that were recently opened, which are expected to increase the quantities of oil derivatives exported to the world, while the contribution of the Karbala refinery is 10% among the four refineries opened in Saudi Arabia, Kuwait and Oman.
    The “S&P Global” platform said, “With the start-up of new refineries, including huge ones in the Middle East, changes are expected in crude oil and product trade flows in 2023, especially with the sanctions imposed on exports of Russian oil products and product export quotas.” Chinese".
    The company added that “operating the new Al-Zour refinery in Kuwait with a capacity of 615 thousand barrels per day, the Jazan refinery in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia amounting to 400 thousand barrels per day, the Iraqi Karbala refinery amounting to 140 thousand barrels per day, and the Omani Duqm refinery amounting to 230 thousand barrels per day. Crude oil in the region will increase to 9.30 million barrels per day in 2023.”
     
    As a result, the American economic company expected that “the total exports of major oil products, including gasoline, gas oil, kerosene / aircraft and fuel oil, will rise to 3.37 million barrels per day in early next year 2023,” and indicated that “the new refineries in the Middle East It will lead to more diesel supplies to Asia and Europe in the medium term and can move Europe from a supply shortage into a surplus market.”
     
    While the refining capacity of the Karbala refinery is 140,000 barrels per day, it is hoped that it will produce more than 9 million liters of gasoline, about 4.5 million liters of gas oil, more than two million liters of kerosene, and more than 420,000 liters of fuel oil, for a total of more than 100 A thousand barrels of light derivatives, except for other derivatives, bringing the total to 140,000 barrels.
