Shafaq News/ Kuwaiti Prime Minister Ahmed Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah renewed, on Tuesday, his country's call to redraw the borders with Iraq.
In a speech during the second Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership held in the Jordanian capital, Amman, Al-Sabah affirmed his country's support for the security of Iraq, and said, "The region will not enjoy stability and will not enjoy security if one of the countries in it loses security."

He referred to their endeavor to maintain the security and stability of the region, and said: I do not miss touching on the completion of the legislative elections in Iraq and the selection of the prime minister, in addition to what has been achieved in maintaining their security in the way of eliminating the remaining remnants of terrorist organizations.
Al-Sabah added that the Arab countries - especially the Gulf countries - are aware of Iraq's status and importance, and are also seeking to restore its active role in strengthening its presence in its Arab stations, away from any external influences. The electrical connection agreement signed between Iraq and Kuwait is only an example of that endeavor.
He said that the State of Kuwait sought to support Iraq in all fields, recognizing the importance of this country, "and our consolidation of the security of our country because the security of Iraq is an integral part of the security of the region."
Al-Sabah continued, "We are required today to close the pending files, especially the demarcation of the borders after the 162nd mark, so that we can go together towards new horizons, according to the desire of the leaders of our two countries and the aspirations of our peoples, to miss the opportunity for those who have been exploiting these files to undermine this relationship and disturb its peace."
