[size=45]The coordination framework calls for a review of the security agreement between Iraq and the United States, stressing that the withdrawal of foreign forces from the country is unreal. Framework member Turki Al-Atbi stated, "Iraq has gone through challenges and painful events during the past years, which today necessitate a review of the strategic framework agreement with Washington."[/size]
[size=45]Al-Otaibi added, "This agreement did not achieve any of its general objectives, and Iraq is directly affected by it."[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out, "The coordination framework has a number of important observations regarding the provisions of the strategic agreement, most notably Washington's exploitation of some of its provisions in operating military aircraft without any inspection."[/size]
[size=45]Al-Atbi finds that “this means a major security problem that must be paid attention to, in addition to other objections related to the economy, money, and the repeated violations of aircraft and marches and their bombing of targets in depth.”[/size]
[size=45]Al-Atbi concluded, “The current situation in Iraq requires a review of all agreements with America and others, and making them according to a path that serves national security and directly preserves its sovereignty.”[/size]
[size=45]For his part, another member of the coordination framework, Mahmoud al-Hayani, said, "The talk about the withdrawal of American forces from Iraq is just a media talk."[/size]
[size=45]Al-Hayani added, "The forces are still present inside Iraq, and there are American assurances of that."[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out that "the previous government had no desire to expel the American forces, and it announced an alleged withdrawal in order to stop some of the military operations that escalated at the time against the bases where the American forces are present, and to stop targeting the convoys with explosive devices."[/size]
[size=45]Al-Hayani stressed that "the government of Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani will work genuinely to remove these forces," noting that "there is strong support for the prime minister of the Iraqi government by the leaders of the framework in this regard, and there is no complacency in the file."[/size]
[size=45]And he added, “There is a priority for some files that the Sudanese government is working to implement, and then it will work to resolve this file, away from any political pressures and external interference,” stressing that “the presence of the American forces cannot be kept silent any longer, as they are occupying forces.”[/size]
[size=45]However, the independent MP, Sajad Salem, seriously questioned the demands to open the file for the expulsion of the American forces.[/size]
[size=45]And Salem said, in press statements, that “after these parties achieved their gains, we did not see any real movement from them towards this file, although they have now become the decision-makers in the Iraqi state.”[/size]
[size=45]He pointed out that "the Sudanese government does not want to lose US support, especially since there is clear support for it through the frequent visits of the US ambassador and other US officials."[/size]
[size=45]Salem stressed, "The government does not want to delve into this file so as not to lose that support, which could have serious and significant repercussions on the internal Iraqi level."[/size]
[size=45]And he considered, “Returning to calls for the removal of American forces again to the arena and the media scene are slogans with the approaching local or parliamentary elections.”[/size]
[size=45]And Salem concluded, “These slogans always have an electoral goal and win votes, as is the case with many slogans that are raised and not implemented after achieving the personal and partisan interests and gains of some personalities and parties.”[/size]
