The National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, stressed today, Saturday, the importance of continuing cooperation and partnership between Baghdad and Paris in the field of combating terrorism.
And the media office of the National Security Adviser stated, in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, received in his office today, Saturday, the French ambassador to Baghdad, Eric Chevalier."
The statement added, "Al-Araji reviewed with the French ambassador the wonderful opening of Khaleeji 25 in Basra, and expressed the Iraqis' hope that this success would be crowned by lifting the ban on Iraqi stadiums."
The two sides discussed "the political and security situation, at the regional and international levels, and emphasized the importance of continuing cooperation and partnership between Baghdad and Paris in the field of combating terrorism and exchanging information and expertise."
They discussed, "the file of the Syrian al-Hawl camp and the importance of ending this sensitive file, to support efforts to combat terrorism and the stability of the region and the world."[/size]
