The Ministry of Electricity announced, on Tuesday, the existence of loans to establish 400 stations, while confirming its contracts with American companies to implement energy projects with high specifications.
Electricity Minister Ziyad Ali Fadel said, "The ministry has discussions and contracts with General Electric and other American companies," noting that "these solid companies will contribute to the implementation of projects with high specifications to ensure the stability of the stations for many years."
He added, "The first phase of the contracts signed in 2019 and 2020 with Siemens has been fully completed within the roadmap," noting that "the first phase is especially in the field of energy transmission, as we were able to equip and operate more than 14 stations throughout the governorates of Iraq."
Fadel continued, in an interview with the official news agency, that "the ministry has dialogues for the maintenance and rehabilitation of generating stations manufactured by Siemens," noting that "there are loans to establish 400 stations with the same company." Ended 29/N33
