Today, Tuesday, the Security Media Cell announced the seizure of a money exchange that smuggled foreign currency in central Baghdad.
The cell said, in a statement received by the National News Center, that “after receiving intelligence information from the Baghdad Intelligence and Security Directorate affiliated to the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security at the Ministry of Defense, stating that there is one of the money changers in the Karrada area smuggling foreign currency out of Iraq, which negatively affects the economic situation of the country.” The directorate’s detachments, in coordination with the Organized Crime Directorate, were able to arrest the owner of the money exchange for the crime and witnessed crime, and arrest him in accordance with Article (204) of the Penal Code.
