On Wednesday, the Minister of Construction, Housing and Public Municipalities, Bengin Rikani, announced work to complete the procedures for implementing 15 new residential cities approved in various governorates.
In a statement, the ministry stated, "Rikani held an expanded meeting to discuss the procedures for implementing the new residential cities whose designs have been approved, in the presence of the Secretary-General of Provincial Affairs, governors, general managers and directors of service departments of the concerned authorities."
During the meeting, the minister said, according to the statement, that "the ministry, within the framework of the government program, will work to complete the procedures for implementing (15) new residential cities approved in the various governorates, by settling expropriations and creating new municipal departments for each city."
He added, "The procedures include preparing the roads linking these cities as well as the ring roads around them, and then starting the procedures for sorting and distributing what is allocated to citizens, indicating that these cities will contribute effectively to solving the housing crisis."
