The Minister of Commerce, Atheer Daoud Salman, directed that the first portion of the food basket be prepared for those covered by the social welfare network.
A statement by the Ministry of Commerce stated, "The Minister of Commerce, Professor Atheer Daoud Salman, inspected today, Friday, the food stores in Karkh, as well as visiting a number of laboratories and bakeries in Baghdad. During the visit, he met with the General Manager of the Foodstuff Company, Lama Hashim Al-Moussawi, and was briefed on the food storage and workflow." And supervising the process of receiving and preparing the items of the food basket for the first meal of the current year, and following up the preparation for the release of additional foodstuffs for those covered by the social welfare network.
During his tour of the warehouses, Minister Al-Ghurairi stressed the importance of speeding up the preparation of the items of the basket for the first batch, and the readiness of the processing centers to launch the share of those covered by social care, which enjoys government support because it affects the strength of the Iraqi citizen and his basic needs of foodstuffs, noting that the continuation of the processing of the items of ration and the follow-up of the implementation of the plan and mechanisms of processing with scheduling Timings, unifying pieces with flour, and delivering them to those who deserve them within the supply system and in all governorates of Iraq will contribute to reducing the rise in food prices
