The General Company for Foodstuff Trade in the Ministry of Commerce announced, on Tuesday, the intention to sell three basic foodstuffs to citizens at competitive prices next week.
The company's general manager, Lama Al-Moussawi, said, "The company, under the guidance of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, and under the supervision and follow-up of Minister of Trade Atheer Al-Ghurairy, formed a crisis cell and an emergency team to monitor the high prices of some foodstuffs, such as table eggs and frozen chicken."
And she added, "During the past two days, direct sales markets have been opened in most of our outlets in Baghdad, to sell table eggs at a price of 4,750 dinars," noting that "some merchants seek to bring the price of the egg layer to 7,000 dinars and more."
And she continued, "The table eggs arrived in the holy city of Najaf during the past two days," noting, "
Al-Moussawi confirmed, in an interview with the official news agency, that "the company continues to sell commercial zero flour at competitive prices," pointing out that "there has been no increase in flour, which has continued to maintain its price for months."
Al-Moussawi indicated, "There are efforts to sell chicken, fish and adult milk at competitive prices during the next week, and at the same sales outlets spread in Baghdad and the provinces." Ended 29/N33]
