An informed government source revealed, on Wednesday, that arrest warrants will be issued against former ministers involved in financial and administrative corruption cases.
The source said that “as part of the campaign to combat administrative and financial corruption, arrest warrants will be issued against former ministers,” without giving further details.
It should be noted that Prime Minister Muhammad Shia al-Sudani, after the House of Representatives voted in late October 2022, pledged that combating financial and administrative corruption and recovering looted funds would be among the priorities of his government program.
A few days after he assumed his duties, the first suspect was arrested in what became known as the “theft of the century” and a number of those involved in it, followed by many arrest and recruitment orders issued by the Integrity Commission.
