Yesterday, Wednesday, the Sudanese Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a, expressed his hope that his upcoming visit to France would be a good sign and that it would lay the right foundations for a sustainable partnership, stressing that Iraq is continuing its foreign policy based on moving away from the policy of axes.
Al-Sudani said in an article published by the French newspaper "Le Monde": "The Iraqi government today is more convinced of its vision to develop Iraq's regional and international relations on the basis of cooperation and balance, moving away from the policy of axes, and adopting a policy of partnership with many countries of the world, led by France."
He stressed that "the response of Baghdad and Paris to the common sense of the strategic importance of the relationship between our two countries prompted our government to show more keenness to develop that bilateral relationship and build on its solid foundations."
He added, "When Iraq faced the dangers of terrorism and fought a fateful war with the forces of evil and darkness, in defense of itself, the region and the world, France was the first to provide assistance and participate in the recovery of Iraq's lands, especially in the war to liberate Mosul. In addition, the joint cooperation between us in the aspects of armament, training and intelligence effort." All of this indicates a long-term strategic partnership between Baghdad and Paris to ensure the preservation of the achievements made in the fight against terrorism and stability in the region.
And he indicated that "our government intends to be a major driving force in regional diplomacy and political tracks, and this was clearly demonstrated in the (Baghdad Conference 2) that was held with the support of President Macron in the Jordanian capital, Amman, recently, as we were keen on Iraq's refusal to use its lands as a springboard to threaten neighboring countries, showing At the same time, we rejected any encroachments on our lands.
He continued, "Iraq, through its distinguished relations with its regional surroundings, has become a meeting place for disparate parties to meet, seeking to bridge the distances between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Iran, based on our belief that the stability of the region is achieved by overcoming tensions." He noted that "cooperation between Paris and Baghdad has multiple aspects, as it extends health, educational, cultural and climate sectors.
In addition, yesterday, Wednesday, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani received a phone call from King Abdullah II Bin Al-Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
The call, according to a statement by the Prime Minister's Office, discussed bilateral relations between the two countries, enhancing and developing mutual cooperation in various fields, as well as discussing regional and international issues of common concern. On the other hand, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani visited, yesterday, Wednesday, the headquarters of the Ministry of Agriculture, and held a meeting with its officials. Al-Sudani stressed, according to a statement by his office, "the vital place of the agricultural file in the government program that was developed to be an application plan that can be implemented on the ground," stressing that "work in the ministry must be according to a clear integrated plan."

Al-Sudani pointed out that "the next agricultural season will not have any support for any farmer who does not use modern agricultural techniques and modern irrigation methods by sprinkler, and this is part of the policy of reforming the agricultural sector." Al-Sudani also chaired a meeting devoted to discussing the progress of work on the dry canal project, which was attended by the Minister of Transport and the consulting company in charge of preparing the project designs.
The Prime Minister confirmed, according to a statement from his office, that "this project falls within the strategic projects that the government focuses on," directing the need to expedite its implementation and shorten the stages, in order to achieve revenues and qualitative differences that reflect positively on the Iraqi economy.
