Shafaq News/ The second deputy speaker of the Iraqi Parliament, Shah Wan Abdullah, described today, Thursday, the lawsuit filed in the Federal Court against the Kurdistan Region, as having political motives and aiming to create a new crisis between Baghdad and Erbil, calling on the political forces to take a "clear" position regarding the decision "surprising" court.
In a statement received by Shafaq News agency, he said, "He expresses his great surprise at the Federal Court's decision to prevent the dues of the people of Kurdistan from being unjustly sent at this particular time, despite the fact that the region's dues were voted on by the people's representatives from all components under the dome of the Iraqi Parliament."
He added, "The lawsuit that was filed in the Federal Court against the region is politically motivated and with the aim of creating a new crisis and thwarting the path of dialogues and negotiations that took place recently between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government, and the rapprochement and positive atmosphere between the two parties."
The Deputy Speaker of Parliament expressed his regret that "there are parties that do not want goodness and stability for Iraq, and they live on crises and problems and deliberately strike national interests," calling on the political and national forces to "take a clear position towards the decisions of the Federal Court."
And Kurdish citizens expressed their dissatisfaction with the Iraqi Federal Court's decision to prevent sending monthly payments for the salaries of Kurdistan Region employees, considering it an "unfair and unfair decision."
Yesterday, Wednesday, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, considered the Federal Court's decision that it is illegal for the Iraqi government to send the salaries of the region's employees, unfair, pointing out that this decision targets the political process and the political agreement on which the new Iraqi government was formed.
On Wednesday, the Federal Supreme Court ruled that it was unconstitutional for the Federal Council of Ministers to send sums of money to finance the monthly salaries of employees and workers in the public sector in the Kurdistan Region.
The Kurdistan Regional Government promised the decision as "unjust" and a flagrant violation of the constitution and contrary to the agreement to form the Iraqi government, while calling on the federal government not to submit to this decision, and to fulfill the promises it made to send financial dues to the Kurdistan Region.
