    Baghdad today - Sulaymaniyah
Today, Thursday, the leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ghiath Surji, revealed the existence of agreements and negotiations with the Iranian opposition parties in order to calm down and stop their activities in northern Iraq.
Surji told (Baghdad Today) that "for more than two months, there has been no Iranian breach, bombing or targeting of the border villages in the Kurdistan region."
He added, "There have been negotiations for years, and developments during the last period, with the Iranian Kurdish parties to calm down and stop their activity and resort to diplomatic and political action."
At the end of 2022, the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs condemned the Iranian bombing that targeted the territory of the Kurdistan region of Iraq, stressing that it will take high-level diplomatic measures regarding these attacks.
For its part, the Kurdistan Regional Government condemned the continuous Iranian attacks with missiles and drones on the region, calling on Iran, which has repeatedly and flagrantly violated Iraq's sovereignty, to stop these attacks and refrain from further threats to Iraq's territorial integrity. The United States stands with our partners in Baghdad and Erbil, and shares the Iraqi government's goal of preserving the country's security, stability, and sovereignty.
Iranian media confirmed that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard bombed with missiles and drones the headquarters of Kurdish parties in the Koysanjak district of Erbil in the Kurdistan region of Iraq.
It is noteworthy that last October, Iran bombed separate areas in the Kurdistan region, northern Iraq, killing about 18 people, including a child and a woman, in addition to 58 wounded, the majority of whom were civilians.
The bombing affected four areas in the region, most notably the towns of Sidekan and Koysanjak, north of Erbil and east of Sulaymaniyah.
Tehran is bombing some areas in northern Iraq, where Iranian Kurdish opposition parties and organizations are stationed, while the Iranian Revolutionary Guard believes that the opposition parties are pushing Iranian activists to continue mobilizing against religious rule in Iran, according to observers' interpretations.
