The Foreign Ministers of Iraq, Fouad Hussein, and Morocco's Nasser Bourita, today, Saturday, discussed strengthening relations between the two countries after the reopening of the Moroccan embassy in Baghdad.
The two ministers affirmed, during a round of in-depth discussions held today in Baghdad, that "the Kingdom of Morocco's step in opening its embassy will be a starting point for a partnership that is consistent with the volume of historical relations between the two sides."

They pointed out, "The importance of convening the joint Iraqi-Moroccan committee, deepening political consultation and finding open mechanisms to confirm the movement of diplomacy of the two countries and through the consultation mechanism."
"The relationship with Morocco will witness a new generation of diplomatic interaction," the Iraqi minister said.
While the Moroccan minister stressed “the importance of stimulating the economic relationship and overcoming difficulties in accordance with legal frameworks.”
