Earth News / The Vice President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Qubad Talabani, confirmed today, Monday, that Baghdad and the Kurdistan region need a comprehensive agreement.
Talabani said, in a statement received by Earth News, that "the first and last option before the governments of Iraq and the Kurdistan region is a comprehensive and long-term agreement that is consistent with the constitution and serves the interest of all citizens of all sects and nationalities."
And he continued, “In my meetings in Baghdad with President Latif Rashid, Prime Minister Muhammad Shia’ al-Sudani, Parliament Speaker Muhammad al-Halbousi, leader of the Wisdom Movement Ammar al-Hakim, and Minister of Labor and Social Affairs Ahmed al-Asadi, I called sincerely and sincerely to intensify our discussions to reach an agreement in the near future. Especially on the budget and the oil and gas law.”
He continued, "It is no longer in the interest of any person or entity to delay the agreement, as all Iraqis, including the Kurdistan region, demand services and care, while the desired agreement creates a fair legal environment for both sides to meet the people's demands and improve the status of services."
He pointed out, "We hope that the relations between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad will reach an advanced level, especially with optimism that the Iraqi government headed by Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani is keen to solve many problems."
