The Iraqi Ministry of Oil: They are serious about addressing the increased demand for some oil products

Shafaq News/ The Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Distribution Affairs, Laith Al-Shaher, pledged, on Tuesday, to address the increase in demand for some oil products, in a record time.
This came during his chairmanship of an expanded meeting of the parties concerned with the distribution sector at the center of the ministry and oil companies, according to a statement issued by the Ministry of Oil.
At the same meeting, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil for Distribution Affairs affirmed the ministry's keenness to improve the distribution sector and work to achieve a high flow in providing oil products to citizens despite the various circumstances and challenges.
The statement quoted Al-Shaher as saying that the meeting aims to discuss and review the movement of petroleum products in Baghdad and the provinces, and to study increasing and addressing consumption rates and work to achieve a high flow in the mechanisms of distributing them to citizens and consumer sectors.
Al-Shaher also indicated that the demand for some products, especially “kerosene” and “white oil,” has increased to great rates due to low temperatures and the supply of electric power, adding that the ministry is serious about dealing positively with that by pumping appropriate quantities into the distribution outlets. And addressing the increase in demand here and there in record time.
He stressed the follow-up of the movement of oil products throughout Iraq, and coordination with the security, control and inspection authorities by monitoring the operations of exploitation, sale and circulation of oil products outside the fundamentalist contexts, by some weak-minded people, and referring them to the competent courts.
The meeting was attended by the General Manager of the Products Distribution Company, the Assistant General Manager of the Technical Department, the Assistant General Manager of the Oil Pipelines Company, the Director of the Oil Products Marketing Authority in the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company "SOMO" and a number of those concerned in the oil departments and companies.
