The Parliamentary Investment Committee confirmed, on Tuesday, that it will work to stop and prevent political parties from interfering with investment projects, in addition to trying to open the way for foreign companies to industrial investment.
Committee member Youssef Al-Nawfali said in an interview seen by Taqaddam that “the Investment Authority and the rest of the other bodies have been working under the control of political parties since 2003, and this matter is an obstacle to progress in this field.”
Al-Nawfali added, “The committee is seeking to get out of this cycle by preparing a new law that has been read in the first reading and is awaiting the second reading for approval. Some points have been marked to work on in order to open the door for investment in front of Arab and foreign investors to implement vital projects.”
And he indicated that “the committee will adopt the single window system to ensure that political parties do not control investment, and grant licenses to real investors who can implement real projects,” stressing that “most of the committee’s deputies are independents who have a point of view in restoring the wheel of work and progress for the country.”
