The representative of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Sharif Suleiman, confirmed that the budget amounts are still unknown, pointing to the importance of investing in the positive atmosphere between Baghdad and Erbil in order to solve all outstanding issues between the two sides.
Suleiman said in a press interview seen by “Takadam” that “the decision of the federal budget for the current year by the government was not delayed because of the Kurdistan region, and there are positive movements for understanding about the region’s share in the budget, although the amount of funds is still unknown.”
He added, "There is a positive atmosphere between Baghdad and Erbil, and it can be properly invested in order to achieve consensus and understanding on all outstanding issues, especially with regard to the file of revenues, oil and gas, the budget and other entitlements."
Suleiman explained, "Many files have accumulated over the years, and there is a valuable opportunity to solve them all, especially with the existing understandings between the center and the region to solve all problems between the two sides."
