Today, Tuesday, the Al-Fatah Parliamentary Bloc presented a new vision to control the exchange rates of the dollar, while calling on the government to send the draft budget to Parliament.
The head of the Al-Fateh Parliamentary Bloc, Mahdi Amerli, told (Baghdad Today) that "his bloc submitted a request to Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a Al-Sudani for the purpose of sending the budget to the House of Representatives," noting that "the delay in its approval is negative and its passage can contribute to the stability of the dollar exchange rates."
Amerli added, "If we want to control the dollar, then all merchants must deal in Iraqi dinars when buying goods locally, and we limit ourselves to dealing externally only when buying goods in dollars," noting that "the purchase of vehicles internally must be in Iraqi dinars, as well as construction and others, and here the dollar can be controlled." Especially if you include some points within the budget.
The head of the Al-Fateh Parliamentary Bloc predicted, "The budget will reach Parliament within one to two weeks," adding, "We will work quickly in the House of Representatives to pass it."
Since November 2022, the exchange rate of the US dollar against the Iraqi dinar has witnessed a gradual increase, reaching its highest levels in recent days, as it crossed the barrier of 167 thousand dinars per 100 dollars.
