    [size=45]A high-ranking Iranian judicial delegation is visiting Baghdad, during which it met with high-ranking officials, led by the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Faiq Zaidan, and the National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji.[/size]
    [size=45]And an Iraqi judicial statement received by (Al-Mada) stated that “the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Faeq Zaidan, received yesterday the assistant of the judicial authority in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kazem Gharibabadi, and his accompanying delegation.”[/size]
    [size=45]The statement added, "The meeting was attended by the Chief Public Prosecutor, Najm Abdullah, and the Head of the Judicial Oversight Authority, Laith Jabr." He stressed, "The delegation met with the judges and members of the public prosecution, members of the committee concerned with the discussions with the counterpart side in the Islamic Republic of Iran," noting that "during the meeting, the completion of the talks and the procedures agreed upon between the two sides were discussed." The statement indicated that “the meeting was attended on the Iraqi side by the head of the Babylon Court of Appeal, Judge Muslim Meteb, and a number of judicial supervisors and members of the public prosecution, and on the Iranian side, the assistant of the judiciary in the Islamic Republic of Iran, Kazem Gharibabadi, the Iranian ambassador Muhammad Al Sadiq, and the head of the Public Authority.” For prisons, precautionary and educational measures, Ghala Maali Mohammadi, and the judicial advisor for the International Affairs and Human Rights Committee, Ahmed Reza Rashidi.[/size]
    [size=45]The statement added that "the meeting discussed a number of issues of common interest between the two sides."[/size]
    [size=45]Abadi confirmed, according to the Iranian News Agency, that “the visit lasts for three days, and it began yesterday, during which the file of the assassination of Qassem Soleimani and Abu Muhannadi al-Muhandis will be discussed.”[/size]
    [size=45]Abadi continued, "We are about to issue an indictment in this case and we hope that the indictment will be brought to court as soon as possible in Iraq, so that all the perpetrators and leaders are brought to justice."[/size]
    [size=45]On a related note, a government statement received by (Al-Mada) stated that “the National Security Adviser, Qassem Al-Araji, received the Iranian judicial delegation in his office.”[/size]
    [size=45]The statement continued, "The meeting witnessed a review of the friendship and cooperation relations between the two countries and ways to strengthen them and adopt dialogue and understanding to solve problems, in a way that serves the interest of the two peoples and the two neighboring countries."[/size]
    [size=45]Al-Araji stressed during the meeting, according to the statement, that “everyone agrees to fight terrorism and miss the opportunity for terrorist groups to achieve security stability in the region and the world,” noting that “terrorism still poses a threat to the world, and its sources in all its forms must be dried up.”[/size]
    [size=45]He pointed out that “the goals of Iraq and the Islamic Republic of Iran are common in distancing the region from any escalation or tension, through the understanding of the countries of the region among themselves and that there is a need for cooperation, especially with regard to the file of combating terrorism,” noting that “the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia Al-Sudani is serious about developing these relations, after the successful visit that Mr. Al-Sudani made to Iran.[/size]
    [size=45]For his part, Abadi pointed out, "The relations of cooperation and friendship between Iraq and Iran are strategic and good, and whenever the judicial cooperation between the two countries is fruitful and constructive, we can solve everything that stands in the way of developing the relations of our two countries," expressing "his country's aspiration for fruitful cooperation between the two countries on the largest scale."[/size]
