    Economy News _ Baghdad
Iranian Assistant Minister of Agriculture for Livestock Affairs Hossein Damavandi Nejad said, on Wednesday, that his country has launched negotiations to export live livestock to Iraq.
Official Iranian media quoted Ahmadinejad as saying that Iran has a surplus in the live heavy livestock production sector (cows and buffaloes), so negotiations were launched with Iraq to export this type of livestock.
Regarding the export of light livestock (sheep and goats), he stressed the need to take into account the climatic conditions, as during the rainy seasons the red meat market was expected to record a surplus of production, but the opposite happens, as the livestock is kept due to the abundance of pastures and the ability of breeders to provide food for them.
