Shafaq News/ The President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, discussed, on Wednesday, with the British Ambassador to Iraq, Mike Bryson Richardson, the latest developments in the political situation, while the latter expressed his country's support for dialogue between the two Kurdish parties to solve outstanding problems.
The region's presidency said, in a statement received by Shafaq News Agency, that the President of Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, received today the British Ambassador to Iraq, Mike Bryson Richardson, indicating that the two sides stressed during the meeting the importance of consolidating bilateral relations between the Kurdistan Region, Iraq and Britain.
They also discussed, according to the statement, the latest developments in the political situation in Iraq, Erbil's relations with Baghdad, and developments in the region in general.
Regarding the internal situation in the Kurdistan Region, the statement says that the British ambassador welcomed the meeting of the Kurdistan Democratic Party and the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, expressing his country's support for dialogue between the two sides and solving problems through dialogue.
On the other hand, they discussed the issue of the oil and gas law, the Iraqi budget, the decisions of the Iraqi Federal Court and their negative effects on the political situation, and the British ambassador stressed on these issues that his country encourages Erbil and Baghdad to solve their problems through dialogue.
