    Baghdad today - Baghdad
Today, Wednesday, the leader in the coordination framework, Turki Al-Atbi, revealed that higher orders have been issued to investigate the obscene wealth of some Diyala governorate officials.
Al-Atbi told (Baghdad Today) that "corruption has been plundering Diyala governorate's money for years," noting that "the matter was monitored from an early age because it is no different from terrorism."
The leader added in the context that "the situation of the province is difficult and tragic in light of the deterioration of basic services," noting that "high orders were issued by the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani to investigate the file of the obscene wealth of some Diyala officials to find out the size of their large wealth by a recently formed committee, as well as follow-up information about the smuggling of large sums of money to some neighboring countries in recent years.
He pointed out that "the investigation into the obscene wealth is a step that is the first of its kind in Diyala since 2003 and may be the beginning of the overthrow of big names accused of financial and administrative corruption and wealth at the expense of public money .”
He pointed out, "the need to distance the fight against corruption from political disputes and pressures, because the situation in the province needs correction that contributes to addressing a very serious scourge."
revealed Al-Atbi had, earlier, a pledge made by the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, to purify the Diyala border crossings from the power of the mafias.
