    The head of the Iraq Money Recovery Fund, Haider Hanoun, confirmed today, Wednesday, that the fund aims to recover smuggled Iraqi funds and others, while he indicated that more than three million dollars will be recovered from one of the neighbors countries.


    Hanoun said in a press conference, attended by Alsumaria correspondent, that "the money recovery fund aims to recover smuggled Iraqi funds and others," noting that "more than three million dollars will be recovered from one of the neighboring countries," noting that " The area of ​​corruption is wide and we are working to reduce it. ".





     
    And he continued, "We are racing with the corrupt to recover the money inside and outside Iraq, and we will conclude agreements with Arab and foreign countries to recover the stolen money," explaining, "These achievements would not have taken place had they not been been for the Prime Minister's follow-up and his interest in the issue of recovering the money."
     
    He added, "Fighting corruption is one of the priorities of the ministerial curriculum, and the judiciary provides great support to the Integrity Commission," stressing that "Fighting corruption is a collective responsibility."
     
    For its part, the media office of the Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani, said in a statement received by Alsumaria News, that "the competent authorities managed to recover an amount of more than 80 million dollars from the stolen funds and re-enter them into the state treasure."

    He added, "This came in accordance with the government's approach and within the government's continuous efforts to recover Iraq's money smuggled abroad."

     
    Earlier, Alsumaria News obtained a document issued by the Central Bank of Iraq, in which it was announced that more than $80 million had been deposited in the Iraq Money Recovery Fund.
