Iraqi-American cooperation to improve the level of performance of institutions and establish the principles of good governance
Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Planning affirms the continuation of work to achieve the goals of sustainable development in Iraq and to establish the pillars of state security in all fields
The Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Planning, Dr. Muhammad Ali Tamim, affirmed today, Wednesday, the serious and great desire to continue partnership and cooperation with the United States of America in order to achieve the goals of sustainable development, improve the level of performance and establish the principles of good governance. He added, during a joint press conference with the US Ambassador to Iraq, Mrs. Elena Romansky, held in the ministry after announcing the completion of an integration project in improving the level of performance and establishing good governance, which was implemented by the US Agency for International Development, we have attached within the government program exceptional importance to the application of the principles of good governance in order to Achieving a better life for citizens and stabilizing the pillars of state security in all fields. Pointing out that the ministry is working within the framework of improving the level of performance through many activities and policies and in cooperation with the Takamul project through what the departments and formations of the ministry, committees and work teams emanating from the National Committee for Sustainable Development are doing.
For her part, the US Ambassador to Iraq, Mrs. Elena Romanowski, expressed her deep gratitude on behalf of the United States for the support provided by the Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan Regional Government in promoting good governance and improving basic public services. She added that the US Agency for International Development has invested more than $172 million since 2012 to improve Basic services, enhancing budget transparency, and improving the response and effectiveness of the government in meeting the needs of public services.
