    Baghdad today - Sulaymaniyah
Today, Wednesday, the leader of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan, Ahmed Al-Harki, considered that Article 140 is a constitutional article that cannot be subject to a statute of limitations.
Al-Harki said in an interview with "Baghdad Today" that "Article 140 of the constitution cannot be dropped by the statute of limitations at all."
He added, "Article 140 is the only solution to end the problems of Kirkuk and the rest of the disputed areas, and if its implementation is delayed, this does not mean at all that it will be discontinued according to political moods."
Yesterday, Tuesday, the Turkmen leader, former deputy Niazi Oglu, confirmed the expiration of the validity of the article of the Iraqi constitution.
Oglu said, in an interview with (Baghdad Today), that "Article (140) of the Iraqi constitution has expired since 2007. The constitution confirmed the application of this article this year, and after all these years have passed without any implementation. This means the end of work according to this article. And there are those who want to implement this article according to the political agenda and whims, and not the constitutional and legal ones.
And the Turkmen leader stated that "the Kurdistan region seeks and is trying to return to control many regions under the title of activating Article (140), and this matter is rejected by the Arab and Turkmen political and popular forces, and the fate of those regions cannot be made according to political and partisan consensus," noting that "any attempt to return Kurdish control over these areas is met with strong rejection.
