Shafaq News / The Deputy Representative of the United States to the UN Security Council, Richard M. Mills Jr. urged, on Thursday, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Muhammad Shia' al-Sudani, to fulfill his commitments to measures to "confine arms to the state".
"We encourage the Iraqi government to confront political, economic and security challenges," Junior said, during a speech at the UN Security Council session held on the developments in Iraq, stressing the United States' endeavor to "support the current government's efforts to combat corruption in the country."

The US delegate added, "The threat posed by ISIS is still ongoing," urging the Iraqi prime minister to "fulfill his obligations to limit weapons to the state."
For his part, the representative of Mozambique to the UN Security Council expressed his support for the Iraqi government's steps in combating terrorism and drying up its sources.
The delegate of Mozambique praised Iraq's diplomatic steps in opening up to its regional environment and to neighboring countries, while appreciating "the results of the Second Baghdad Conference, which was held recently in the Jordanian capital, Amman."
