Today, Saturday, a government source revealed the date for the return of gas imported from Iran through the pipeline coming through Diyala Governorate, as the pumping amount will return by only 23%.
The source said in an interview that “the pipeline pumping the gas imported from Iran, which extends from the borders east of Diyala and from there to the Mansouriya gas station before moving to other stations in the capital, Baghdad, stopped pumping 100% on January 26 for maintenance purposes, after it was pumping more than 7 million cubic meters per day.
He added, “The capacity of the pipeline reaches more than 30 million cubic meters, feeding stations in Baghdad, the most prominent of which is Basmayah, to produce thousands of megawatts. To 21 million cubic meters per day in order to reach the stage of total production as a giant station.
He pointed out that “the fluctuation of Iranian gas pumping to the central and eastern regions of Iraq was affected by the wave of high demand in Tehran due to the low temperatures, which prompted it to reduce exports from more than 30 million cubic meters per day to only 7 million cubic meters, and this led to the impact of several stations, including Mansouriya gas, which It produces more than 600 megawatts.
Accordingly, this means that Iranian gas will return with a pumping rate of only 23% of the previous quantities needed by Iraq.
