    Baghdad today - Sulaymaniyah
Today, Sunday, the leader of the Change Movement, Adnan Othman, praised the government's measures towards the dollar, while affirming his support for the steps of Prime Minister Muhammad Shia'a al-Sudani in controlling the price of the dollar.
Othman said to (Baghdad Today), "The government's measures announced by the Central Bank are an important step for the return of the dollar to its previous position."
He added, "All political parties must cooperate with the government and the prime minister to eliminate dollar smuggling, implement central bank procedures, and prevent the continuous rise in the dollar."
Earlier, Prime Minister Mohamed Shia Al-Sudani chaired the second meeting of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce, the Association of Banks and a number of financial bodies.
The media office of Al-Sudanese said in a statement received by (Baghdad Today) that “the latter chaired the second meeting of the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and the Association of Iraqi Banks, as well as the tax and customs authorities, border crossings and the central bank, where the meeting witnessed a discussion of the economic situation at the national level in light of exchange rate fluctuations, and their effects.” In the Iraqi market, the implementation of Cabinet decisions related to taxes, customs, border crossings and the work of banks was also followed up, and government measures regarding countering exchange rate fluctuations were also reviewed, as well as the recommendations made at the last meeting were followed up.
And the Prime Minister stressed, according to the statement, “the need to develop an assessment of the work of banks, and support real banks that have implemented the requirements of the Central Bank, and applied financial standards corresponding to the financial policies of the state ,” noting that “some banks and exchange offices do not achieve the desired contribution to the consolidation of a regular and real national financial policy.” ".
Al-Sudani directed to "simplify the procedures for merchants' dealings in the concerned state departments," stressing that "this stage, despite its embarrassment, is a gateway to economic reform."
He also stressed "the need to spread the banking culture, which was supposed to be practiced years ago, so that merchants and businessmen are ready to deal with the new context of the central bank, and the international standards of the banking system."
The statement continued, "The meeting witnessed confirmation of the effectiveness of the new transfer system for commercial transactions, and its positive impact in reducing transactions with forged invoices that facilitated currency smuggling over the previous years."
