Promising projects to increase production capacity in the southern refineries

Yesterday, Sunday, the Ministry of Oil announced promising projects in southern refineries to increase production capacity and improve the quality of petroleum products.
The ministry said in a statement that "the undersecretary for liquidation affairs, Hamed Younes, chaired the leadership meeting of the liquidation sector, in the presence of a number of directors of companies and departments of the ministry and an elite group of engineering and technical personnel."
She added that "the meeting discussed future plans and purposeful economically feasible projects that the national effort companies are working on in order to achieve the desired goals." planned to serve the public interest.
Yunus explained during the meeting, according to the statement, that “the ministry, within its plans, is continuing with projects to develop infrastructure for the refining sector, in addition to building a number of units to improve all oil products, including gasoline.” He stressed, “The ministry is keen to support projects to increase the production capacity of Iraqi refineries and improve quality and Petroleum products according to European standards (Euro 5).
He pointed out that «the refineries of the south will witness during the coming period the implementation of a number of projects to develop and rehabilitate the units of Al-Zamra and improve the gasoline, and the installation of new units for the catalytic cracking complex (FCC) in cooperation with a solid Japanese company, and is considered the first in Iraq, and enjoys the technology to raise the rate of efficiency and energy of products. Al-Bayda is from refinery waste and of high quality,” noting that “the FCC liquid catalyst cracking complex project aims to provide high-quality oil products according to European specifications (Euro 5).”
He continued, "The project works to produce oil products with high added value, such as gasoline and diesel, according to standard specifications and environmental standards."
