Emerging parties calling for their involvement in drafting the election law

The "Future Forum for Political Dialogue" held a political session in which emerging parties and entities registered in the Parties Department, far from Parliament, participated. It was agreed in the session to communicate with Parliament to oblige it to participate and have an opinion on the elections and parties laws as they are official parties and must have a say in approving Laws.
The founder of the forum, Hussein al-Asadi, said in an interview with "Al-Sabah": "After establishing the forum, we took it upon ourselves to gather political parties that are not currently participating in the political process through their parliamentary representation, especially since they have visions and ideas regarding some laws, especially the amendment of the election law that will be read in Parliament".
He added, "The sessions of the forum continue until an agreement is reached to mature a real election law that benefits everyone without exception, and the law is not detailed for one party over another, or by excluding any party," noting that "the next session of the forum - as proposed by heads of emerging, new and previously registered political parties - Legal pressure towards contributing to the legislation of the upcoming elections law.
In turn, the Secretary-General of the "Enough" movement, Rahim al-Darraji, stated, in an interview with "Al-Sabah", that "the political entities decided to meet and reach some important steps, because the political process is almost an unstoppable process, in addition to that the government's ministerial platform decided In October of this year, the timing of early elections will be determined, and the government must abide by this pledge that Parliament voted on.
He added, "The new political entities are preparing some proposals and opinions regarding the upcoming electoral process, which needs supplies, including the election law, the parties law, and the law of the Independent High Electoral Commission."
He pointed out that "the parties outside parliament will reach an important result, which is to oblige parliament to participate with all parties registered in the parties' department and to have a say in the election law and also in the parties law in order to participate, and because they are official parties registered in the parties department, they must have a say in the law." Next, and there will be insistence from all political parties and entities in the next stage.
For his part, Dr. Khaled Al-Maeeni, Director of the "Tigris Center for Strategic Planning", said: "The session of the Political Forum for Dialogue is a new attempt to fill the political vacuum through the Iraqi national movements," noting that "there is a whole political class that has taken turns in power since 2003 and on the other side." For the popular movement, there is a great political vacuum."
He added, in an interview with "Al-Sabah", that "this session comes to bring together the parties to the national movement, including parties and youth movements, to introduce themselves to this critical and dangerous stage in the history of Iraq, which is passing through a major crossroads and needs its patriotic rationalists, while the ruling parties are looking for their own interests, and therefore we are We are faced with a historical responsibility and a national duty to redefine our identity and formulate a new political equation that will have a role in drawing the next political map.
He pointed out that "the meeting reached two very important and dangerous points, which are the demand for activating the suspended political parties law 36 of 2015 in favor of parties and not in favor of the political process, because the existing pattern of democracy does not allow the presence of opposition within the dome of parliament or the formation of a political majority, and therefore the activation of the parties law It would reformulate the political scene in the next stage, and the second point regarding the election law as the gateway to change and the peaceful transfer of power.
While the Secretary-General of the "Iraqi Civil Movement," Zulfiqar Hussein, revealed, in an interview with "Al-Sabah", about "the agreement to file a lawsuit before the Federal Court regarding the involvement of emerging, youth and political entities that are not represented in parliament in drafting the next election law, given that they are part of The political process and their parties have official licenses to practice political work, and therefore will have an impact on the form of the next law.
While the Secretary-General of the "National Footprint" party, Faisal Abdullah Obaid, said, in an interview with "Al-Sabah", that their participation in the forum comes "to activate new formulations of the election law, to be inclusive of all, and to start with steady national steps and a future vision that addresses the great problems that it suffers from." community because of this

The independent politician, Omar al-Sharifi, said in an interview with "Al-Sabah": "The situation in Iraq is very thorny and complex and has many crises, problems and challenges. Therefore, the Future Forum for Political Dialogue is based on conducting open dialogues with political elites in order to diagnose the defects and find appropriate solutions."
